Job description : Purpose

Purpose

Reporting to the Training Superintendent the successful applicant will be responsible for establishing the infrastructure required to implement the learnerships and the subsequent day to day management of the Trade School and Learnership programmes.

Key Accountabilities and Challenges

  • Operate within and observe all relevant and applicable laws of Panama.
  • Setting-up the Trade School area and commissioning of the equipment.
  • Design and implement record keeping systems for all training activities.
  • Ensure regular assessment and re-certification of internal trainers.
  • Management reporting and budget control.
  • Overseeing lecturing, training and mentoring of the learners on the programme;
  • Liaising with the on-site engineering departments to ensure relevant practical work is undertaken;
  • Overseeing the conducting of assessments, tests, keeping records and generally managing the learnership programme.
  • Communicating with the partners to ensure the successful implementation.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with service providers of external training.
  • Maintain HSE standards and ensure strict compliance within the mining area.
  • Implement FQM Way culture - "Bolder, Smarter, Driven, Together."
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the management team.
  • Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Education
  • Secondary school certificate
  • Level 4 Qualification in an Engineering Discipline (Technician)
  • ETDP Qualification or similar
  • Train the Trainer Certification
  • Skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, OneNote
  • Strong ability to work in a "team" environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain self-discipline within a production environment.
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
  • Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar Coordinating training role;
  • Demonstrate the ability to train and develop learners;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate at all levels;
  • Capacity to work independently
  • Be a team player.
  • Language
  • Fluency in Spanish is required. English will be beneficial.

    The position is offered with a 5 / 2 roster. 5 days on 2 days off.
