What You Will Do

As our IT Manager for the Americas region your role is ensuring successful delivery and adoption of IT services and support to both on-shore employees, off-shore crew and offices and tugboats.

You will be leading a small team with two direct reports and on daily basis coordinate and interact with the IT Managers located in other regions.

Together with your team and peers you will be responsible for deliver the management of IT infrastructure, software, and telecommunications with focus on provisioning of infrastructure and workplace support services

You will undertake and manage relevant IT projects, IT inventory, costs, and budgets as well as maintaining IT policies and procedures.

You will manage, lead, and mentor IT Support staff and help them improve and grow.

You engage with IT Service Providers with respect to Incident, Change and Problem management when necessary and liaison with IT delivery manager / Service Delivery Manager.

  • Other responsibilities are;
  • IT procurement and regional vendor management
  • Facilitate end-user training for relevant applications as well as communication of relevant updates on IT to Svitzer colleagues
  • Perform analysis and design of computer network
  • Manage and supervise third party maintenance of software and hardware
  • Manage IT assets and ensure efficient on and off boarding of staff with IT equipment
  • Contribute to continuous improvement within Technology and service delivery
  • Undertake risk assessments for areas of responsibility as required
  • Support Svitzer Technology strategic planning as required
  • Any other duties required to assist in providing the best levels of service
  • What You Will Need to Succeed

    You can demonstrate a strong user focus and genuine desire to assist our organization. As a person, you possess a high drive and is results oriented.

    As a leader you have a strong understanding of change management, excellent communication skills (English) and an analytical mindset.

  • Also, strengths within the following areas are an asset;
  • Strong IT- customer-centric understanding and delivery and a proven record in IT project management
  • Knowledge and skills in product evaluation, vendor / contractor management
  • Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Technical knowledge and understanding of Microsoft and Cisco products
  • Diagnostic and critical thinking skills
  • The ability to develop strong business relationships with people in the organization of varying levels of technical knowledge
  • Business and technology understanding
  • Dialogue seeking and with good understanding of diverse cultures
