What the role is

The PA works in collaboration with the Partnership Accounting Manager, VP Accounting,Director Global Partnerships and Director of Tax.

This position will report directly to the Partnership Accounting Manager and will assist this well-capitalized start-up company with partnership accounting, investor presentations and other special projectsas it continues its global expansion.

What you will be doing

Reviewing partnership legal agreements to understand the key terms of each deal and interfacing with Real Estate Department on partner relations issues.

Liaising with Corporate Office in Panama to verify the accuracy of the accounting affecting the partnerships.

Determine partner contributions, distributions, guaranteed payments and capital account balances according to the contract terms.

Preparing and distributing partnership financial statements and ensuring required independent audits are completed on a timely basis.

Interfacing with the Director of Tax regarding the preparation of forms K-1 and their international equivalents for distribution to partners.

Assisting with the preparation of financial documents and presentation materials to be provided to investors in the Company at required periodic intervals.

Assisting the Partnership Accounting Manager directly on special projects that enable the continued expansion of the Company.

What you need for the role

  • 2+ years of experience with partnership accounting gained either at a public accounting firm or in a corporate environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Fluent in English. Ability to communicate in Spanish would be desirable.
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Must have strong work ethics and be well organized and a self-starter
  • Must be able to follow standard filing procedures
  • Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable
  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Ability to interact with employees in a professional manner
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
