Our client is a biopharmaceutical company. They have asked us to assist them in their search for an Investigator, Antiviral Drug Discovery.
Major tasks and responsibilities will include :
Designs, oversees, and executes research and experiments to support the company’s antiviral discovery pipeline.
Contributes to the conceptualization, writing, and submission of NIH grant proposals.
Provides guidance and leadership a team of biologists, biochemists, and enzymologists to advance the research programs, and generate critical data to support research contracts / grants and internal scientific goals.
Collaborates with team members for target characterization, design of biochemical and cellular assays to support small molecule lead discovery, optimization, preclinical compound testing and nomination, evaluation of compounds in relevant disease models, and PK-PD evaluation.
Provides guidance to external contract research organizations.
We seek candidates with the following qualifications :
Requires a Ph.D and 1-5 years of research experience in the pharmaceutical industry
Experience with research focused on Hepatitis B virus highly preferred.
Must have experience advancing novel molecules through discovery and development.
Requires experience mentoring scientists.
Small molecule experience strongly preferred
Must have a strong publication record.
Requires the ability to effectively plan and organize complex work activities and prioritize task completion to meet schedules and deadlines.
