Under the general supervision of the Medical Affairs Director, the Medical Affairs (Medical Manager (MM)) contributes his / her technical and scientific knowledge into Marketing and other strategic activities through involvement with different company areas : Marketing, Sales, Training & Development, DPOC System, Regulatory, Public Affairs and Legal, Pharmacovigilance .

  • The incumbent will be appropriately trained and qualified which include medical qualification and possess a good understanding of the relevant therapeutic areas;
  • marketing and regulatory knowledge is desirable. Relationship and management skills are highly desirable qualities.This position could be based in Panama, Costa Rica or Guatemala.

    The position does not include relocation assistance.Main Responsibilities :

  • Ensures the marketing team is kept up to date with new scientific data. Detects, complies and analyzes all information on MSD and competitive products, and disease necessary for the Marketing and Sales areas.
  • Organizes and attends national and international scientific events (meetings, congress and symposium). Cooperates in the organization of scientific meetings, sponsored or fully organized by MSD.
  • Contacts and assists foreign and local speakers, as well as local speakers invited by Merck Human Health Division or other subsidiaries.

  • Completes medical reviews / approvals of promotional material and medical information & communication materials in general according to the actual SOP.
  • Is accountable for coordination of local studies (LCE / OR) planning and assignments.
  • Supports key activities aiming to include Merck products into public and private formularies.
  • Delivers presentations at medical meetings and events
  • Manages medical inquiries : Directly answer or certificating what the Medical Information Specialist will send as answer to HCP unsolicited questions.

  • Completes medical reviews / approvals of training materials.
  • Implements activities to address physicians perceptions about MSD product and strategies.

  • Provides medical support to elaborate unbranded educational materials to general population.
  • Maintains and strengthens a fluent relationship with medical and official, at a level of cooperative and scientific interchange.
  • Elaborates the Medical Action Plan (MAP) for the assign products align with marketing strategy.
  • Requirements :

  • Medical Doctor with specialization in Internal Medicine, Infectology or Intensive Care.
  • Experience in the area of diabetes and infectious diseases.
  • Experience interpreting clinical studies.
  • Knowledge of Outcome Research.
  • Experience working with Central America and Caribbean countries.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English (oral and written).
  • Willing to travel up to 60% of time.
  • Ability to interact with peers.
