Key Responsibilities :

  • Promote safe, healthy and fair work environment Develop standard safe working procedures and actively participate in HSE initiativesCarry out formal workplace inspections on a routine basisEnsure employees work in compliance with H&S (e.
  • g. isolation, lock out and tag out), quality and environmental standards and proceduresManage and coordinate daily corrective actionsEnforce housekeeping standards in all designated work areas

  • Assist in the set up planning, reliability and design functions at Mobile Equipment maintenance Assist on hiring and train team to develop world class metallurgical process plantHelp on implementing JDEdwards CMMS moduleHelp on creating maintenance strategies for the Mine Maintenance Ultra Class teamTo set up condition monitoring systemsTo set up design systems and document management systemsTo set up continuous improvement process
  • Lead and manage planning function at Ultra Class Maintenance group Work with managers and superintendents (Planning, Engineering & Maintenance) to ensure that the equipment for the Mining Operations operates according to StandardOperating Procedures (and that all machinery / equipment is maintained according to supplier recommendation and industry best practices) within determined budgets and meet demand.
  • Ensure that all equipment preventive and predictive maintenance plans are in accordance with the needs of the operation that activities are planned and scheduled via a computerized maintenance management systemLead planning so that equipment availability is maximized and contractor resources are minimized and ensure that in-

    house resources are fully utilized.Lead and develop planning functions so that continuous improvement methods are implemented to planning processProvide technical support for the mechanical maintenance personnel on a daily basis to maximize production and efficiencies and optimize costs.

    Report on maintenance activities and performance indicatorsManage budget for PM,(installation of new equipment) and parts inventory.

    Provide coaching and mentoring to Planners and Schedulers to enable them to understand the critical issues affecting the planning and scheduling requirements across the Department.

    Ensure that weekly, Monthly and Yearly look ahead plans are signed off at the appropriate level and published on scheduleMake sure that weekly, Monthly and YTD performance KPI's are produced and published across the department.

    Attend the meetings with internal customers as appropriate to ensure planning and scheduling alignment. Set up contracts as necessary with consultants or contractors for project work.

  • Lead condition monitoring team and functions Lead condition monitoring team including oil analysis monitoring and other condition monitoring methods.
  • Incorporate Minestar in to the Condition monitoring scope for equipment healthContinuously improve methods and accuracy of condition monitoring

  • Act as PM related to small- and medium size equipment upgrades Develop a capability to provide an internal project and reliability engineering service for the Maintenance dept sections.
  • This will include a prioritization system and may require communications with Perth projectsProcess owner for equipment modifications

  • Lead reliability team Actively seek and identify Equipment performance opportunities together with maintenance team and execute plans to improve performance and / or cost efficiencyReview equipment performance for efficiency / operability improvement and provide financial justification for related capital projects.
  • Provide support to the sections for RCA and lead RCA investigations on significant incidents as necessary.

  • Collaborate with Mobile and Field team and related functions to optimize efficiencies
  • Evaluate equipment performance to identify and initiate development opportunities.Review equipment performance for efficiency / operability improvement and provide financial justification for related capital projects.
  • Provide leadership to the team Manage a team responsible for planning, reliability and Condition MonitoringEnsure that shifts are appropriately staffed.
  • Participate in the interviewing, hiring, training and development in an effort to retain and develop the best talent for the organization.

    Provide clear work objectives and expectations of the performance levels required to achieve business plans and production goals.

    Manage performance by setting expectations, conducting performance reviews, and providing feedback and coaching / training

    Qualifications & Experience :

  • Mechanical Engineer Degree / Or related Trade Certificate to Heavy Fixed Plant Equipment
  • Minimum of 8-10 years' experience in a maintenance role; 5 years of which should be in Senior Supervisory capacity
  • Knowledge of JDEdwards or other enterprise systems and MS Office.The ability and drive to manage a planning and reliability engineering work group in a technically challenging and geographically remote environment.
  • Sound planning, analytical, and problem solving skills.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Knowledge and understanding of diverse third world cultures and customs an advantage
  • Plant specific experience on hard rock mining mobile plant, previous experience in a large open pit mining operation would be well regarded
