Job Purpose

  • To develop a 2018 KPI monitoring report (monthly and annual).
  • To collaborate and propose new ideas for maintenance procedures and the updating of the emergency operations database.
  • To propose a communication strategy to efficiently deliver the KPI monitoring report to key actors.
  • Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate in the standardization of the emergency operations database and the other tasks linked to this activity (format, connectivity).
  • Participate in the development of policies and procedures for the updating of the emergency operations database.
  • Prepare manuals and instructions on updating the emergency operations database.
  • Participate and propose ideas on the design, development and implementation and visual display of the Disaster and Crisis Department’s new KPIs on a s Dashboard and through other PMER and IM products .
  • Develop the monthly and annual KPI monitoring report.
  • Propose and develop a communications strategy to efficiently deliver the report.
  • Perform any other duties as required.
  • Introduction to Office staff.
  • Briefing on IFRC Disaster and Crisis Department.
  • Meeting with Disaster and Crisis Department, Continental Operations Coordinator, PMER Senior Officer and Information Management Officer.
  • Briefing on Internship deliverables.
  • Briefing on tools required the development of deliverables.
  • Familiarization with IFRC tools.
  • Standardization of emergency operations database.
  • Plan strategy to locate missing database fields.
  • Development of KPI reports.
  • Development of communication strategy.
  • Status meetings with operations team.
  • Participation in Weekly Operations monitoring meetings.

    Knowledge, skills and languages

  • Basic knowledge of project management.
  • Knowledge of current and emerging information technology (it trends).
  • Basic knowledge in information and data management, analytics and these fields’ best practices.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, Smartsheet (or a similar spreadsheet tool).
  • Dashboard or data visualization skills (desired).

  • This internship is open to local and international applicants who are currently-enrolled in a university or equivalent level, or have graduated recently (normally within 1 year from the date of hiring) in an area that is compatible with the above description.
