The TMF Water Resources Engineer key responsibilities will include :
Work closely with planner to map out tailing deposition spigot, sand placement distribution pipes and water management infrastructure operations.
Calculate catchment areas for active work area to support water management infrastructure planning.
Produce various iteration of the tailings deposition model output.
Calculate surfaces and volumes based on LIDAR and drone survey data.
Conduct Hydraulic analysis for high precipitation climate.
Apply computer models to model dynamic operations and evaluation scenarios guiding the water and tailings depositions management plans.
Participate and take ownership in projects requiring water or tailings management inputs.
Produce various maps and reports for weekly and monthly reporting and presentations.
Upload and georeference drone survey data to produce monthly tailings deposition and water pond updates.
Develop a geodatabase for spatial queries of data collection points (instrumentation data, photos, discharge rates, inspection point .).
Import field inspection and survey data into database and produce visualization tools.
To be successful in this role you will require :
Experience in the mining industry and preferably with tailings management facilities operations and water balance.
Degree in Engineer with Professional background in Geology, Geography, Hydrology or related discipline with specialization in GIS.
5+yrs of related work experience.
Advanced GIS software knowledge including Esri Suite.
Knowledge of AutoCad and Civil 3D.
Knowledge of GoldSim an asset.
Experience with 3D modeling for tailings deposition (eg.Muck 3D) an asset.
Experience with database structures (geodatabase, MS Access, SQL) would be beneficial.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word, and Access, and the integration of spreadsheets, database tables and text files in ArcGIS.
Bilingual English / Spanish.
Ability to integrate multidisciplinary input into a cohesive database.
Excellent interpersonal Skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.
Effective communication skills.
Experience in multicultural projects.
