We are currently seeking a talented Safety Supervisor Trainer to joined our Safety Team.
Key Accountabilities and Challenges
Operate within and observe all relevant and applicable laws of Panama.
Maintain HSE standards and ensure strict compliance within the area of operation.
Ensure development of toolbox talks topics and safety flash cards are promptly raised, recorded and distributed.
Maintain the statistics reporting system and complete weekly and monthly reports and as required for the Manager
KPI's, Daily or Weekly Training Reports, Data Recorded).
Manage the training records in Skills Tracking database of training completed including :
o Creation and assignment training against operational employees
o Add scoring of training given
o Review training record and closure
o Statistical analysis
o Generation of progress reports
Supervise the activities and duties of the Safety Trainers to provide support in the area.
Support the Port and Mine Safety Superintendents to ensure compliance with government responses.
Coordinate training issuance of visitor's, vendors, contractors and employee and other personnel who need safety
training at the mine site.
Liaise with external training companies in tender related specifically for specialised training requirements.
Follow up samples to check against original specifications, raise the purchase requisition and check the lead times.
Coordinate and record all safety training events by means of personal filing system and database according to the
Provide high quality administration support to the Manager and Safety Superintendents including the provision of
information, communications including translations for reports, notices and internal procedures.
Collection and presentation of timesheets for submission to payroll.
Respond to questions and requests from other departments regarding safety training issues.
Identify and implement tasks to constantly improve the efficiency of the training section within the Safety
Department office functions.
Liaise with support staff and other non-technical staff in the workplace to maintain efficient maintenance of assets
and operational systems.
Assist with budget preparation and monthly review by cost centre.
Ensure accurate and open communication and co-ordination with a range of individuals across the business.
Control, report and reduce operational costs, and ensure cost consideration taken with all decisions.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Diploma in Training or related field.
Database skills highly regarded.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Strong ability to work in a "team" environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organisational skills.
Meticulous attention to detail.
Understanding of the basic principles of cost control and accounting.
Ability to assess and prioritise tasks.
Computer fluency essential with emphasis on MS Office programs and SharePoint.
Ability to maintain self-discipline within a stressful environment.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in safety training planning or administrative role.
Experience in managing and coordinating safety training.
Experience of training management
Exposure to a complex mining environment highly regarded.
Fluency in Spanish required and competency in English highly regarded.
